Bonnie

Founder of Earth’s Song, Bonnie has tended the native habitats and natural beauty of this land for 32 years and aims to honor the original Kumeyaay stewards by restoring the ecology and fostering a culture of sharing and living more harmoniously with nature.
After losing the house and barn to the 2003 Cedar Fire, an opportunity opened to rebuild homes with ecologically sustainable materials and practices including straw bale and earthen plaster, rainwater catchment and fire protection systems, and supporting permaculture gardens.
Her long career as an environmental consultant in botany, wildlife, and vegetation ecology has allowed her to share her knowledge and passion while building community and promoting wildlife conservation for other land stewards. She enjoys living in community with others as a form of healing dis-ease in our society, sharing work effort and resources, and having a lot of fun.
Bonnie is also passionate about physical and spiritual health and has studied nutrition, herbology, many forms of exercise and spiritual practices. She feels most alive when singing and dancing, sharing deep conversations, and exploring anywhere in wild nature.
Sara Michelle
Sara Michelle is a sound therapist and Akashic psychic reader who finds deep nourishment in the quiet, grounding presence of the Earth Song land. By day, she works as a sustainability consultant, and in her creative hours she is immersed in writing music and two science fiction and fantasy novels. The land serves as both muse and sanctuary for her, a space for writing, channeling, and listening deeply. 🧘♀️
At Earth Song, Sara Michelle offers immersive sound journeys, group Akashic readings, one-on-one Akashic sessions, sound healing workshops, and song circles. She is passionate about deepening her relationship with the land and is eager to learn more about its plants, gardening practices, permaculture, and botany as part of that ongoing connection. 🌱
A lover of community and co-creation, Sara Michelle delights in bringing people together to share ideas, workshops, tea, and play. She believes magic happens in collective spaces and is always happy to host a music jam or a game night, especially if it involves a lively round of Werewolf! 🐺

Dawn

Dawn is a community member and land steward who feels most alive learning directly from the places she calls home. Drawn to Earth Song by a desire to deepen her relationship with the land, she is especially excited to learn permaculture practices and contribute to the ongoing care of the gardens and native ecology. Growing up on a walnut farm shaped her hands-on, problem-solving nature and instilled a lifelong comfort working with soil, plants, and practical systems.
A marine ecologist, Dawn is the founder of EcoSea Expeditions, an ecotour company that blends ocean exploration with citizen science and conservation. While much of her work unfolds at sea, she enjoys bringing an ecological lens back to land-based living—sharing insights in basic botany, gardening, and ecosystem thinking, and exploring how healthy communities mirror healthy ecosystems.
Dawn thrives in community as an extrovert who values diverse perspectives, shared effort, and collective curiosity. She loves contributing her skills while learning from others, believing that living and working together is one of the most powerful tools for resilience and growth.
Outside of work and garden time, Dawn can often be found hiking, tending a fire and savoring its warmth, practicing acro-yoga, or dreaming up (and embarking on) journeys back to the sea.
Nathan
Hello, I enjoy being outdoors whether that is camping, backpacking, hiking, or mountain biking. When I’m not doing those things I’m usually nursing a sprained ankle. A couple years ago I traveled extensively in Latin America, ending up in another ecovillage outside of Quito, Ecuador. There is where I learned about living in community.

I asked ChatGPT to write a bio about me and out of all of the text it wrote, this is the most accurate sentence: “I value independence, clear boundaries, and straightforward communication, and I tend to approach life with a dry sense of humor and observation before action.”
